Welcome to Guitar Skills
This course is designed to help you build better guitar technique through focused exercises that improve finger independence, dexterity, coordination, and control.
If this is your first time through the course, begin with the introduction and work through each lesson in order. If you’re returning, continue with the next lesson you’ve yet to complete.
How to Use This Course
Each lesson focuses on a specific finger combination or technical exercise using alternate picking, hammer-ons, and pull-offs. Rather than rushing through the material, concentrate on making every note clean, even, and controlled.
As you progress through the different finger combinations, you’ll notice that some feel much more natural than others. Spend extra time on the combinations that challenge you the most. Those exercises often provide the greatest long-term benefit.
Complete each lesson before moving on so you can gradually build strength, coordination, and consistency in both hands.
Practice Tips
Practice slowly enough that every note rings clearly. Good technique develops through consistent repetition, not speed.
Pay attention to both hands equally. Your fretting hand should stay relaxed while your picking hand maintains an even motion throughout each exercise.
These exercises make an excellent warm-up before practicing songs, scales, or other techniques. Revisit them regularly, and you’ll continue building finger independence and confidence every time you play.
Let’s get into it!
