TOMMY MACDONALD

Tommy MacDonald has been playing bass guitar professionally for over 40 years, beginning in his late teens. Tommy studied Professional Music & Performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston for 3 years. After leaving Berklee, he spent several years performing with local bands in the New England area. During this time, he also worked with many pioneer rock-n-roll acts like Bo Diddley, Chuck Berry, The Coasters, The Drifters & many other 50’s icon rock-n-roll acts.

In the mid-’90s, Tommy relocated to Nashville & landed countless live gigs and demo recording sessions. Some of the artists who recorded the songs are Tim McGraw, Johnny Winter, ZZ Top & Lynyrd Skynyrd. He also toured with country stars David Lee Murphy, Lee Roy Parnell, Trace Adkins, Keith Anderson, Jeffrey Steele, and many others.

In the past 20 years, he has played on 5 Buddy Guy albums, 3 of which won Grammy’s for Album of the Year. He has also played on albums by Johnny Winter, George Thorogood, James Cotton & Grammy winner Christone “Kingfish” Ingram.
