About Sam Farkas
Sam is a multi-instrumentalist with experience across guitar, bass, piano, and ukulele. He began playing in his first rock and roll band at age 15 before attending Middle Tennessee State University to study music and recording.
Since then, Sam has continued working as a professional musician in Nashville, touring and recording with Nashville-based artists while also leading his own groups. That combination of performance, recording, and multi-instrumental experience gives him a broad musical perspective to bring into lessons.
As an instructor, Sam works with students across different ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Rather than following the same curriculum with everyone, he identifies each student’s goals, addresses trouble spots systematically, and develops lessons around what that individual needs to progress.

Sam’s teaching style starts with meeting students where they are, both musically and personally. He identifies each student’s goals, works systematically through trouble spots, and builds a custom curriculum rather than putting every student through the same sequence of lessons.
That approach allows lessons to change depending on what a student needs. One guitarist may want to develop jazz harmony and chord-melody playing, another may be working on fingerstyle technique, while another student may want to better understand theory or develop their own songs.
The common thread is a lesson plan built around the individual rather than a predetermined curriculum.
