How to Use This Course
Work through the lessons in order. This course is built to help you understand dominant 7 chords, 1-4-5 progressions, 12-bar blues form, and practical chord movement across the guitar neck.
You’ll practice the material in the keys of A, C, F, G, and E. Take your time with each key before moving ahead. The goal is not just to memorize shapes, but to understand where the roots are, how the I, IV, and V chords relate to each other, and how dominant 7 chords function inside the progression.
Use the PDFs, backing tracks, and performance videos as you go. Practice slowly at first, then work with the different tempos as the chord changes and rhythm feel become more comfortable.
Practice Tips
Name the key, the chord, and the root location as you practice. Pay attention to whether the feel is straight or swung, and listen for smooth transitions between the I, IV, and V chords.
Once the shapes feel comfortable, try connecting them to simple fills, pentatonic ideas, or rhythm variations. That will help the chord knowledge become part of your overall playing.
