Welcome to The Yardbirds “Got to Hurry” Eric Clapton Blues Solo
Learn Eric Clapton’s complete solo from The Yardbirds’ “Got to Hurry” while studying the blues phrasing, pentatonic movement, bends, chord tones, and dynamics behind it.
This course breaks the solo into individual 12-bar choruses so you can learn it one section at a time and understand how Clapton develops his ideas across the full performance.
Along the way, you’ll study how he:
- Creates and develops rhythmic and melodic phrases
- Moves through the pentatonic scale across the neck
- Uses bends, double stops, and repetition
- Targets chord tones as the progression changes
- Uses the flat 5 and major 3rd
- Handles the V chord and turnaround
- Builds intensity through dynamics and phrasing
Course Materials
- 6 lessons
- 4 videos
- Approximately 90 minutes of instruction
- Full solo transcription in tab and standard notation
- Individual PDFs for each 12-bar chorus
- Neck diagrams and heat maps
- A complete A minor pentatonic fretboard map
- 2 backing tracks at different tempos
Work through each chorus slowly, use the diagrams to see how the phrases connect across the fretboard, and then practice with the backing tracks as you build the complete solo.
Let’s get into it!
