How to Use This Course
Work through the lessons in order. This course starts with the core material from “Hey Joe,” then expands into the scales, chord shapes, rhythm approaches, licks, drills, and fretboard concepts behind the song.
Take your time with each section. The goal is not just to memorize the intro or solo, but to understand how Hendrix connected chords, pentatonic scales, fills, double stops, and rhythm ideas across the neck.
Use the tabs, PDFs, and backing tracks as you go. Start slowly, get the phrases under your fingers, then bring the tempo up as the timing, tone, and feel become more consistent.
Practice Tips
Pay close attention to how each phrase connects to the chord underneath it. Name the chord shapes, listen for the major and minor pentatonic sounds, and practice moving between rhythm parts and lead fills without losing the groove.
Once a lick or rhythm idea feels comfortable, try using it in a different part of the progression or in another song. That is where the material starts becoming part of your own playing.
